Berkshire Aviation Enterprises has been training aviators for over 60 years at Great Barrington Airport (GBR). During this period we have learned that each student is unique. Students bring their aspirations, skills and motivation to fly and we adapt to them. We develop a personalized curriculum for each of our students, designed to achieve each individual's goals -- whether as a recreational, business or airline pilot.

The one common element in each curriculum is a high standard of performance for both our instructors and our students. Each instructor is required to undergo continual recurrent training. Every student is instilled with, and is required to have, a professional attitude toward aviation. The net result is a safe and pleasant training experience and a well prepared aviator.

Come fly with us. What better place than the friendly, comfortable atmosphere of GBR? GBR is an uncontrolled airport which means more flying and less waiting. Situated in the heart of the Berkshires, every flight will be a scenic treat. In fact the very first lesson will be in the air.

To attain a Private Pilot’s License you can expect to spend between 60 to 80 hours in the air, receive comprehensive ground training for preparation of both the FAA multiple choice written exam and the in-flight practical test with an FAA designated examiner.

Many pilots for a variety of business and personal reasons stop flying for a period of time. We specialize in getting experienced pilots back in the air again. Our experienced instructors are flexible to work out a program just for you. In as little as a couple of hours you can be flying again.!
