RUNWAY CRACKS SEALED
By: Noah Meyerowitz, Posted on 2010-07-30 07:32:40

Just to let everyone Out-There who's flying in.  The Airport [KGBR] Has just gotten the The runway worked on Cracks where sealed and most even "Gouged" out. So now not only being the best airport to fly into it has a hole softer landing strip.

Nice Job GUYS A+

To the gang at GBR
By: Bill Schulz, Posted on 2010-05-02 10:20:03

I like the website, it paid to have the former one highjacked. I especially liked seeing some familiar faces and/or names from twenty or so years back. It's also nice to see that "794" and "33Ugly" are still plying the skies over Berkshire, Columbia, and Litchfield counties (Is that fresh paint I spy on 33U? How many hours on that sweet-flying puppy now? It's just gotta be a record!) I see that my ol' "Thunderchicken" trainer, 2390E, is in NC now.

I've been to many airfields over the years and have yet to find one with GBR's delicious combination of laid-back ambience with an overlay of no-nonsense seriousness such as no touch-and-goes.

Am alive and well in Central FL, 7 sm. S of KLEE, actually. Sadly, the only flying I'm doing these days is RC. (Once a cheap baastid, always a cheap baastid!)

Best to y'all.

Above & Beyond
By: Richard Stanley, Posted on 2009-12-16 17:01:44

I would like to thank both Rick Solan & Jeff Dodge for doing a fantastic job on my recent Annual Inspection. Not only did they do a very professional job in inspecting every nook and cranny on the people keeping it flying safely, they went out of their way to meet their commitment getting the inspection done when they said they would so I could bring it to the avionics shop before I went on a long trip. Theywere extremely cooperative and helpful at every turn. They run a very professional operation and would highly recommend anyone use them for their annual inspections or other work.

Pilots & Crew at GBR,
By: Don Pardon (the Younger), Posted on 2009-12-10 12:17:19

Three turns around the patch last March gave me the bug again after almost 20 years!  Current again and have logged 25+ hrs since then and having a ball.  Instrument Airplane will be the next add-on to my ticket.  Thanks for the flight, thanks for taking my Dad up, and thanks for teaching me how to fly almost 40 years ago!

Hi Tom
By: Leci Guequierre McCrillis, Posted on 2009-10-23 22:01:12

Hi Tom!

Geoff Gage emailed me the link to your web site! God I miss the old days. Geoff is my son Jack's (11 months old) Godfather and I am Godmother to his son Will (11 years old). So you see there are lasting relationships built at GBR. I can't belive 33U is still around! I can't believe it's been 20 years since Geoff and I were your students! I married a United Airlines pilot - but decided I only liked flying the little planes so I'm a flight attendant for United (since 1996). We live in the Chicago suburb of Bolingbrook and fly out of O'hare. I see your lead mechanic was with UA for 13 years.

Hope to come visit someday. I last stopped by in Sep 2000 with my (now husband) whom I was dating at the time.

Take Care, Leci (Guequierre) McCrillis

GBR Old Boy
By: Geoff Gage, Posted on 2009-10-21 13:57:41

Tom V, are you still spinning and stalling in the skies over GBR?  It's been over 20 years since you taught me how to fly in "33U," but I finally figured it out...just haven't had the "perfect flight" yet so I have to keep trying.  Fly safe!  Cheers, Geoff
